Laptop Screen Replacement

If your laptop screen is broken, dim or just not working, don't worry. We special order new screens from a variety of trusted suppliers, allowing us to repair most laptop brands, including MacBooks. Because some manufacturers use different screen configurations in the same model computers, we will not special order a screen without inspecting the original screen. We will also perform a full diagnostic, so there are no suprise charges.

Hard Drive Replacement

Hard drives are the filing cabinets of the computer world. They provide a nice balance of storage space, speed and stability at a relatively low price, but they have moving parts and will eventually wear out. If your computer won't boot, hangs when installing updates or is making a clicking noise, your hard drive may be going out. By replacing your hard drive and reinstalling the operating system, we can often get your system back up and running quickly. Our expert technicians are also capable of recovering data from most bad hard drives.

Blue Screen

The blue screen also known as the blue screen of death or BSOD, is an error message from Microsoft to notify a user about a hardware failure or corrupted operating system. The blue screen message also displays an error code, for example "(x0000007a)", that can be used to help identify the cause of the problem. If the blue screen only displays for a few seconds before rebooting, don't worry about copying it down. We can still perform a free diagnostic on the system.

Bios and System Password Reset

We reserve the right to refuse password resetting services. If your system is asking for a password before Windows loads, you probably have a bios password. These can almost always be cracked, but it often takes several days. Resetting a bios password should only be attempted by an experienced technician. It often requires completely disassembling the system, short circuiting the motherboard, soldering, brute force attacks and specialized software. Windows passwords can be reset while you wait.

Virus Removal

A computer virus or worm is a malicious software program that can self-replicate throughout a computer's file system or across a local area network. They can cause data loss, operating system corruption and slow network communication. It's recommended that you install anti-virus software on all your devices including PCs, laptops, Macs and smartphones. Your anti-virus solution should receive regular updates in order to protect against the latest threats. Kobus Technologies provides the service of supplying and installing anti-virus software and th removal of any viruss on our clients' computers.

Data Recovery

Kobus Technologies does data recovery on hard drives that have failed. Our success rate is high and if we are unable to recover there is no charge. Data recovery is the process of salvaging and handling the data through the data from damaged, failed, corrupted, or inaccessible secondary storage media when it cannot be accessed normally. Often the data are being salvaged from storage media such as internal or external hard disk drives, solid-state drives (SSD), USB flash drive, CDs,DVDs, RAID, and other electronics. Recovery may be required due to physical damage to the storage device or logical damage to the file system that prevents it from being mounted by the host operating system (OS).

In another scenario, files have been "deleted" from a storage medium. Typically, the contents of deleted files are not removed immediately from the drive; instead, references to them in the directory structure are removed, and the space they occupy is made available for later overwriting. In the meantime, the original file contents remain, often in a number of disconnected fragments, and may be recoverable.

Finally, the last failure is a disk system failure. This is usually accompanied by a clicking sound. These cannot be recovered in shop. Please click on the picture for assistance with these.
